Project Overview
Doutta Galla Aged Care engaged our team to design and deliver a new background music (BGM) solution that would help create a more relaxing and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The goal was to provide high-quality, calming audio across key communal areas, while ensuring easy day-to-day operation and full compliance with commercial music licensing requirements.

Our Solution
4-Zone BGM System
We designed a four-zone system covering the main resident areas, with each zone featuring independent volume control. This allows staff to tailor audio levels based on time of day, activity, and resident preference—quiet morning ambience, more presence during mealtimes, and softer levels in lounge spaces.
Licensed Music via Stingray Business
To ensure all music played throughout the facility is fully commercial-licensed, we integrated Stingray Business BGM, which provides curated relaxation playlists ideal for aged-care environments. This guarantees compliance and removes the need for staff to manually manage playlists.
Bluetooth Audio Input
For events, visiting performers, or staff-driven content, we included a Bluetooth audio option, allowing simple one-touch streaming to the system when required.

inDesign Wall-Mounted Volume Controls
Each zone features its own inDesign wall controller, giving residents and staff immediate, tactile control over local audio levels. This approach keeps the system intuitive and reduces unnecessary adjustments at the amplifier.

The new BGM system has significantly enhanced the atmosphere throughout Doutta Galla’s key communal spaces. Residents now enjoy a calm, soothing audio backdrop across their daily activities, contributing to wellbeing and comfort.
