Creating an Immersive Entertainment Space for Mature-Age Residents

Client Brief

A residential care facility approached Hypervisuals with a clear goal: create an engaging, easy-to-use entertainment system for their residents — all while working within a tight budget. The solution needed to enhance the communal experience, be simple to operate, and deliver a sense of theatre for events and movie nights.

Our Assessment

The facility already had a 60-inch Samsung display in place. To maximise value, our design needed to integrate with existing equipment while significantly upgrading the viewing experience. The system also had to:

  • Deliver immersive visuals suitable for group viewing.

  • Provide clear, even audio across the entire common room.

  • Be intuitive for residents and staff who may not be tech-savvy.

The Solution

We implemented an innovative, budget-conscious upgrade featuring:

  • 120-inch high-resolution Hitachi projector with a motorised screen for a cinematic experience.

  • Integration with the existing 60-inch Samsung TV to provide flexibility for different viewing needs.

  • RTI control system as the central hub, connecting all video and audio devices to one simple remote.

  • Kramer video switching for smooth management of multiple video sources.

  • HDBaseT technology for robust, reliable signal transmission.

  • Distributed audio throughout the room to ensure every resident enjoys clear sound.

The Result

The facility’s common room is now a welcoming hub for entertainment, from movie nights to special events. Residents enjoy large-scale visuals and immersive sound, while staff appreciate the simple, one-touch control. By integrating existing equipment with smart upgrades, Hypervisuals delivered a theatre-like experience without exceeding the budget — a perfect balance of impact and value.
